Who I am

Hi and thank you for taking the time to look through the site, I hope you contact me for further information and give me the opportunity to help you with the challenges, problems or opportunities you face.

I am passionate about personal development and personal leadership as I really believe that until we are all fully alive and awake to ourselves we will never be able to create the positive change and development that we need for a peaceful and sustainable world.

I have over twenty years experience at all levels and in many roles within the Voluntary and Community Sector, from grass roots community activist to Chief Executive. It has been (and continues to be) a fantastic journey and offers continuous learning and skill development, I draw upon it every day.

My current work is very focused on challenging violence against women and children and I feel privileged to be able to put my energy and commitment to such a noble enterprise.

The Mastery and the development of a multi disciplinary creative group is another way of creating change and personal development and I really hope that you think about getting involved, you never know where it may lead you!

I am a member of ACEVO and the Institute of Fundraisers and I am currently Chief Executive of a large organisation in Cardiff and service on three Trustee Boards.

Governance is of vital importance to our sector, and from what I see it still needs a lot of improvement. Having served on management committees, Trustee Boards (including as Chair on many occasions) throughout my time in the sector I have direct experience of what good and bad governance looks like. I have a clear idea of what skills and expertise our top level leaders need and I am proud to be able to offer Governance appraisals to check the effectiveness of your committees/boards.

The Sector is highly competitive and both sets of our customers (service users and service commissioners/funders) expect high quality services and improving performance. Often a client will employ us because they have problems that are urgent, time is of the essence, they want it fixed yesterday. Although we have a responsibility to deliver agreed outcomes we also have an ethical responsibility to deliver the ‘appropriate’ one. We won’t rush in an offer a quick fix, gain short term advances that can’t be sustained, or make ourselves look good at your expense.

Laughing Crow works for solutions that result in a true resolution of the problems, we don’t forget that real organisational change is a people issue.

We will use the latest techniques and cutting edge thinking to achieve success, increase performance and quality.
