Laughing Crow Coaching is informed by its commitment to clarity, integrity and authenticity. Coaching has been around for as long as one person has tried to help or encourage another to identify and achieve their goals. You may be forgiven for thinking it has only just been discovered and is the panacea to all of our problems as individuals, our route to reaching personal nirvana. I'm not saying that good coaching can't bring enormous rewards, but that it’s also important to remember that effective leaders, teachers and parents all use the range of skills and create their relationships within the framework that we are identifying as coaching. I, like many of you, have been coaching staff and volunteer teams (and individuals within those teams), clients, colleagues, friends, family and myself (by far the most difficult person to coach!!) for years. What the recent developments within the coaching field has done, is to bring a greater recognition and clarification to the skills required for high quality coaching and increased the opportunity for people to learn them and bring them to situations not previously thought of. If you are unsure as to what you can expect from a coaching relationship or how it works I will be pleased to talk you through the process. And if you put coaching into your preferred search engine you will find plenty of sites that will tell you all you need to know. It is important to get a good fit with a coach, one that will meet your needs and can work with the context of your situation. Although the answers are all your own, it is helpful to work with someone who has an understanding of the context of your work life, that’s why I specialise in working with people who work in the Third Sector and within political environments.
